Deneb

This creation is called Deneb and is one of my newest StarSentients™, one-of-a-kind glass sculptures. It is named after a supergiant star in the constellation of Cygnus that also overlaps another important star configuration called the Northern Cross. It is one of the brightest stars in the northern hemisphere. The name comes from the Arabic word for “tail.” It is one of my most iconic sculptures as it contains clear representation of the theme of my work, the conception of the connection between oceanic cnidaria, the phylum of jellyfish, with extra-terrestrial, UFO manifestations.
In the moments Deneb was designed, I imagined it as in a momentary pause before it swims rapidly away. The sandblasted and etched top and main elements contrast to the lower undulating tendrils further creating a sense of kinetic potential.
